Friends Visit

Grace and Malaika came for lunch yesterday -- it was so nice to see them. Grace worked with me at KQED and Malaika often brought her students to see me when I worked there.

I found out the awards ceremony for SPJ will be March 19. I hope to attend.If it were today I couldn't go. Woke up with a bad case of nausea.

It's foggy outside or maybe it's my bad eyesight. Or both.

Conscience

Mitt Romney will vote to convict Trump. The horrible propaganda machine controlled by Trump will denounce him.

I salute him. Thank god we still have public servants who know what their duty is and to whom they are accountable.

If Romney would run for President again I would vote for him over any of the current Democratic candidates.

Sunny Day

Up early and out this chilly morning to get blood drawn at my doctor's office.

The van driver waited for me. Then came back home for lunch.

Saw Trump speech last night -- awful, filled with lies.

My usual meal companion, Bill, left his hearing aids in his room yesterday. We had a very quiet lunch.

Crummy Health News

Now I know who I can't see. I need cataract surgery in both eyes. It apparently will be expensive and will not happen for months.

I'm pretty bummed out.

My Favorite Moment

So the 49ers lost the Super Bowl. That disappointed all of us around here. But afterwards my grandson Luca addressed the crowd.

"C'était un bon match mais nous avons perdu."

I think he said, "That was a good game but we lost."

Family Visits

Aidan and Kelsey helped me move three boxes of files down here from SF. We also had lunch at Salumeria.

Then Laila & the kids came over to watch the Super Bowl with me and have dinner here.

So a day rich in family contact.
