The place I work has become so political it is almost unbearable. People are jockying for positions and power, and in the process, they are affecting me and my teams.
My digital news team has been ripped away from me and given to someone else, a person with no news experience. I love this team, which I have carefully built up, led and I hope, inspired. Now they are going to report to someone else.
As a form of compensation, I am to be named Investigative Editor, but with no team. Just an empty gesture. I feel ripped off, sad, angry and unable to do anything about it.
After all, I have three kids in college. I need to keep going to that awful place. But except for the occasional investigative project I will have nothing to do.
