Leap Ahead

A big group of my family members converged on my old flat today. We procured boxes from nearby corner stores and the result is that almost all the books are now packed.

We got lunch from El Matate, and prepared more items for Monday's "bulky item pickup." I'm finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. As my son-in-law carried boxes of books into the El Cerrito recycling center's book drop-off building, he said that people were fighting over my books because they such resellable books.

I'm happy they will find new homes.

Struggles

Not sleeping.

Fears of the virus may cause cancellation of a large conference Loic is supposed to attend in London at the end of next month.

Next month starts tomorrow.

I watched "Lassie" for hours with my granddaughters. The TV series ran from 1954-1973.

Racked with anxiety about cleaning out my SF flat. We hope to make progress today.

Worried about money.

Pandemic Time

I underestimated the Coronavirus.

It appears to be much worse than I expected.

We may be in for a rough period until a vaccination can be discovered.

Return to Health

After a couple very rough days, I feel better today. As eating again. Here in El Cerrito. That is boosting my mood also.

The grandkids are so energetic and cute, watching a soccer game with their Dad and speaking French.

Remembering a Friend

Pat Yollin has passed away. She served as our copy editor at KQED and she was my friend. Every day, we would discuss the stories our reporters submitted, and correct any errors we found, and then publish them.

But Pat was much more than a copy editor. She was a great writer in her own right. She accomplished many things in her distinguished career. I loved working with her.

Since she became ill last fall, I have been wanting to visit her. But I didn't make it in time.

Good bye my friend. You never met a sentence you couldn't improve.
