It's actually been hot here this week, if you can say 70 is hot. We are in the first real warm spell in a while, with yet more rain due this weekend.
A film crew is coming to film me on Sunday. The topic: Patty Hearst and the SLA, based on the Rolling Stone series Howard Kohn and I wrote in 1975-6.
I am taking a very rare day off because I have maxed out on "PTO" at KQED at 400 hours. That means I could theoretically take a ten week vacation. But I have been saving the time with a different motive in mind.
Now I have to drain at least a day or two each pay period to begin accruing PTO again. That's "Personal Time Off" for whatever reason.
Julia's prom, Disneyland trip and graduation are all approaching. She is working weekends in a popular bakery in Noe Valley. She's so grown-up!

Frontrunner
Julia with her mother, Connie, and her Aunt Carole on a visit to Goucher College in Baltimore last week. Goucher is currently her favorite among the universities that have admitted her. It also offered a relatively attractive financial aid package, which is important.
Over the next few weeks, we'll see what other offers transpire, but for now Goucher is #1.

Travelers
My grandchildren on their way to Sanibel Island the other day. They are gathering for a family reunion on their maternal grandmother's side.
I have so many wonderful memories of Sanibel, though I have not been there in many years. I know they will enjoy finding shells on the beach, seeing the birds in Ding Darling, and experiencing the tropical weather!

Plum Blossoms
These photos are from around the corner from my house. we've had so much rain (and sun) this winter, that the fruit trees and grasses are flourishing.
We had our fantasy baseball draft last night and unfortunately I did not do very well. This year for the first time I did not buy a fantasy baseball magazine to help inform me on my choices. Instead I just relied on whatever information was online.
So it looks like for this season I will have at best a middle of the league team.
