Unscary Scarecrows

The task, as determined by my grandson, was to build a scarecrow. We did the best we could with materials on hand.

The result wasn't especially scary. The lone bird, a large male bluebird, that visited the garden afterward landed on its head and proceeded to eat some of the seeds we were trying to protect.

Afterwards, Luca hid a chocolate bar under a chair. We ate dinner outdoors, out back. As the evening came, many birds came into the yard, singing.

None landed on the scarecrow. None ate our seeds.

It was another hot day in the East Bay. A good day.
