The Trump impeachment "trial" ended without any witnesses despite the shocking revelation that during the Capitol riot, Republican leader Kevin McCarthy asked Trump in a desperate phone call for help, and Trump refused.
He wanted to see how his riot played out.
No witnesses, no trial. The parties cooperated to cheat the American people. Shame on the U.S. Senate -- all 100 of them, no exceptions. But one above all -- Mitch McConnell, the one person who could have prevented this miscarriage of justice. He has etched his name in history as a power-mad coward.
Honestly, the entire spectacle makes me so sick to my stomach that I can't write anything more about it, not now. I am sitting here trying not to vomit.

It turns out that the World Health Organization investigative team did not get as complete cooperation from the government of China in its probe of the origin of the Covid-19 virus as originally reported.
According to numerous media, China withheld from the WHO team information about the earliest Covid patients. This is critical data: What if among early victims were one or more workers from the bioengineering lab in Wuhan?
Since I'm so fond of praising investigative reporters, it's time for me to also acknowledge the excellent work of other kinds of investigators, such as those on Congressional staffs and with the W.H.O. team. Our hopes to get to the truth of these two historically momentous matters hinged on people like them, not on the corrupt politicians here and in China who betray us over and over again.
