Having raised 6 children and observed the raising of 7 grandchildren, I see the simple things. First the babies crawl. Then they stand. Next they walk; then they run.
Every step is as exciting as much as it is inevitable.
It's ironic that as we age it becomes increasingly difficult to stand and walk. And impossible to run. We regress. Finally we just lie down, like babies. At that point we really need someone to take care of us.
