Come November

If American democracy is going to work the way it’s supposed to work, we should be able to put up a blockade to Trump’s authoritarian drive is this year’s midterm elections.

But in order to provide a check on Trump’s power, the Democratic Party needs to win control of at least one chamber of Congress.

According to in-depth interviews with six leading pollsters, the New York Times reports they all believe that the Democrats will indeed win the House and that control of the Senate remains up for grabs.

Control of both houses in Congress would set up a Constitutional confrontation that could block Trump and save our tattered democracy.

While these results give hope, many things could change between now and November.
