Hospital

I fell again soon after my most recent post and heve been here in hospital ever since.

Although the care has been good, it has reached the point where the negatives of being confined outweigh (in my mind) the positives of being free.

This is, no doubt, a larger theme in life. To be confined v. to be on your own, free to make your own mistakes or victories is a big deal in life.

I am not a child but a 72-year-old, proud man.

Leave

I am trying to qualify for a medical leave that would last 12 weeks --  about four months. But I am finding the forms and the process confusing.

I realize my health is deteriorating and that I need rest. Maybe this will work out.

Visit

Alex Emslie came by last night to check on me. He is the only KQED friend to ever come here. I am very weak but I enjoyed his visit.

I am struggling to get family leave, which would get me 12 weeks of pay. I need help filling out the forms.

Fall

Took a very bad fall last Saturday. Aidan came over to patch me up. Since the main injury was a forehead cut, there was a lot of blood.

Kelsey came too and said "You have bloody pants."

Aidan checked me for concussion symptoms.

This week, I have felt weaker and weaker. Friday was especially difficult, but at least it is now the weekend.

Radishes

I just ate a couple of radishes, salted.

As a kid, I grew up learning to grow radishes, carrts, and rhubarb in our backyard. I love them all to this day.

Radishes are small, round, red and spicy.

Yum!

Now I just wish I could taste some rhubarb pie!
