Friday Night? Pizza Night...

...at Dad's (AKA Grandpa's) house. Luca and Sophia were excited after spending the entire rainy day as subjects in a scientific experiment at UCSF. They came with Laila around 5 and we soon ordered pizza.

Peter and Claire soon joined us. I introduced the hilarious Pink Panther remake with Steve Martin to the young ones and we all laughed heartily.

Laila took the above photo.

So far, the rain is holding off today. We plan a big (14 person) birthday party at Peter and Claire's tonight. Tomorrow is Dylan's 22nd birthday.

Most Corrupt Presidency Ever?

It's hard to keep up with all the scandals coming out of the Trump administration as they are more numerous that I can ever recall from any other one. The Truitt swamp at the EPA is particularly vile-smelling, given the damage he is doing to our collective future.

As someone who devoted so much of my reporting career trying to warn the public how much danger we are in, I admit to being distraught by all of this. I have six children and six grandchildren, with a 7th on the way.

What kind of world will they inherit?

My youngest!

With short hair....

Tax Time

Spent time today helping file tax information of the three younger kids and their Mom. I have asked for a delay in filing my info.

Big news! 7th grandchild on the way!

Weekly Reflection

It was rainy here this week and cold (for us). Lots of people out sick from work. I worked from home a bit -- my job is as virtual as it gets, but was in for a big presentation Wednesday. I think t went well -- I presented 15 slides on what we know about digital journalism.

As I was gathering my thoughts for the preso, I came to a realization -- great digital journalism is just great journalism. As it has been in any platform forever. Books, magazines, newspapers, TV, radio, web...it doesn't matter.

When we do the work right it works. And it matters.

Sunday Lunch

Aidan and Dylan came by today and we went to Wiz Burger for lunch. It was great to see them and catch up -- both seem to be doing well in school and socially.

I am so proud of all of my children!
